Mein Name ist Nancy, and I would like to warmly welcome you to your German learning journey!
Have you always wanted to learn German but wondered whether it might be too difficult? You are not alone. Many of my students begin with little or no experience and are surprised by how enjoyable and achievable learning German can be with the right guidance and support.
By the end of this course, you will be able to hold basic conversations, introduce yourself confidently, and communicate in everyday situations in German.
Over the years, I have taught hundreds of students online, in private lessons, and at universities throughout California. One of the greatest joys of teaching is watching students grow from hesitant beginners into confident German speakers who go on to travel, study, work, and build meaningful connections in German-speaking countries.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, one of Germany’s most vibrant and beautiful cities. While my mother is a native German speaker, my father learned German as a second language and became fluent through immersion in the language and culture. This experience gave me an early appreciation for the language-learning process and the challenges—and rewards—that come with it.
As a linguist and German language educator, I have spent more than 15 years helping learners of all ages develop practical language skills and confidence. My teaching philosophy is simple: learning should be effective, engaging, and enjoyable. My goal is to remove the fear of speaking and help you feel comfortable using German in real-life situations.
